Travel Diaries – MIAMI/BAHAMAS EDITION

I am convinced that the best time to travel is NOW!!! LIKE RIGHT NOW …

Ok granted not everyone is able to just book a flight, get on a plane and disappear for a few days. Unfortunately different life circumstances hold us back from being great (ugh). Imagine if you can visit anywhere in the world without it costing you anything. You don’t have to figure out how much PTO you have left, no need to save up, no worrying about a babysitter, you don’t have to find friends to travel with and your pet will be perfectly fine. Everything will be taken care of for you. So, where would you go?

Traveling is deem to be a privilege but it should really be a mandatory part of our educational system (I mean replace it with one of those courses I had to take in school that I never applied nor needed for my life AND YET I AM PAYING BACK STUDENT LOANS ON. But I digress.). It is amazing how social media provides us with this illusion that everyone is traveling and taking trips. BRUHHHH that’s not true!!! I’ve surprisingly met people who has never boarded a flight before.

Anyways, for those who are frequent flyers, once in awhile travelers to those who are still trying to plan their first trip, my blog is for everyone. I mentioned this is my previous blog Travel Diaries: Cuba , A DISCLAIMER, I am not a travel agent nor am I affiliated, endorsed or partnered with any company/organization to share this information. These are my suggestions coupled with my experience from my trip. So here we go …

It’s been about a week now since I was at Sea heading back to Miami. I had never been on a cruise before and it’s been maybe 16 years since I visited Florida. Overall the trip was a new experience to me. Miami is not for cheap folks, it’s costly and Cruises offers something for everyone. I’m glad I got to experience both as an adult because having money allows you to do more without feeling limited.

I learned a lot while booking and planning for my trip. Granted the trip wasn’t my idea but everything about it was perfect 🙂 .

1. Use Google Price Tracker – I have known about this feature for awhile but I never really cared to use it because I usually fly with one airline domestic. Well I’m glad I was led to do so because the one way flight showed up as $25 (or $45 if you want to pick your seat/take a carry on). My flight coming back was $89 on a different airline. Also, neither of my flights was with Spirit. That’s not shade towards their airline but other airlines have deals as well with comfort. Before you book your next flight, if you have time, turn on the tracker and you will be alerted by email as soon as the price drops on that ticket.

2. Cruise Credit – If the tagline says you can earn up to $700 of onboard credit for the cruise, you’d guess your chances are high (negative). First, onboard credit is as good as cash on board the cruise for anything on the cruise. Second, the more you spend purchasing the cruise, the more cruises you have been on play a factor in how much on board credit you receive. So be aware of that the next time you book a cruise. Also, make sure to read the fine line so you don’t miss out on receiving your onboard credit and you can just breeze through the line on the day you board the ship.
