Prayer

When things are going good… Pray!
When things are going bad… Pray!
When you need a breakthrough… Pray!
When you are being persecuted and ridiculed… Pray!
When ____________ …. Pray!

What I love the most about prayer is the more you do it, the more it becomes apart of who you are. The more you realize it is a conversation with God and not this spooky thing. I remember hearing the prayers of some women in my old church and thinking I want to pray powerful and lengthy like them. And I realized I could, I actually can genuinely open my mouth and pray to thank God for myself,  family, church and friends.
I wanted a section in EssenceOfLiz for prayer. To post scriptures and prayer for every person viewing the site. And if they need prayer they can reach out to me as well. I cannot do this on my own, I have praying men and women around me. I did not come this far by myself, the prayers of family, friends and my church kept me. Therefore, I stress not only the importance of what prayer can do to change your life but how it can seriously develop your relationship with God.
Prayer changed my life for the best and it helped me to build a solid foundation in my Christian walk to truly have a relationship not with man’s rules for my life BUT with God. And I believe God wants a relationship with all his children. I know what it means to be lost, to question how God could love a person like myself who was so unclean compared to Him, and I know what it feels like to return back to old habits. Despite it all God never turned His back on me and I know that He has not on you either. He has his arm open ready to help you wherever you find or have put yourself.

If you have not accepted Jesus as your personal savior or need to re-commit yourself to God you can do so NOW. It doesn’t matter what you have done, God has made the path to Him simple. “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

Follow these instructions by praying this prayer:

Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus has paid the price for my sins and I accept that payment on my behalf now. Jesus, I believe that you are the Son of God and that God has raised you from the dead and I ask you to come into my heart. I surrender my life to you. I have decided to turn away from my old life of sin and follow you. Father, forgive me, In Jesus’ name.

I recommend after saying this prayer to strongly consider finding a local church family to continue supporting you down this Christian Journey. We cannot do this walk alone, we need help from each other. God Bless!
